The fire-technical exhibition was organized in 1986. It is placed in the building of the architectural monument of the eclecticism period. It was built in 1901 in a neo Romanesque style. I. Brunek, the famous architect, is the author of the project. The facade is decorated with St. Florian sculpture — the firemen patron (sculptor P. Viytovych). Today, the first state fire station and local fire control administration, except the exhibition, is located here.
The exposition is displayed in three halls. Numerous exhibits inform about the history of fireman profession and, the samples of the ancient and modern special equipment give an idea about the development of fire control and life-saving service in Lviv region.
The materials of the first hall are dedicated to the local history of the fire control service. A great amount of photos, unique documents and special equipment are worth seeing.
The next hall exposition reveals the reasons of the fire outbreak and emergency situations and represents the models of different buildings, special instruments and other items revealing the firemen life-saving activities.
New hall was opened to the 20th anniversary of Chornobyl disaster. Various materials — photos, documents and children's creative works are worth seeing. And the documents about the fortune of 300 Lviv firemen who participated in liquidation of Chornobyl disaster consequences impress the visitors greatly.
