Miniature park of the castles
and fortresses of ancient Ukraine
Description:
Miniature park of the castles and fortresses is the first Miniature park in Ukraine. It was opened on the 8th of October in 2010. The exposition displays 18 miniature buildings and models of the fortresses located in Halychyna, Volyn, Trans-Carpathia, Podillia, Budzhak, Naddniprianshchyna and Tavria. Next to every miniature there is a mini stand with all the necessary information about the year built, location and a description of all the parts (if there is more than one building). Unfortunately not all the models were preserved (e.g. The Lviv High Castle).
The first miniature buildings were High Castle, Olesko Castle(Lviv region), a church in Bishche, The Castle of the Knights Templar in Serednie (Transcarpathian region), Ostroh Castle (Rivne region), a fortess in Sutkivtsi village (Khmelnytskyi region), a column in Kamianets (Belarus), a church in Posada Rybototska (Poland). There are 30 miniature buildings altogether.
The park is a part of the Lviv National Gallery of Art and is located in the territory of The Palace of Pototsky (behind the main building, to the left).
