'D.S. Secret Pharmacy' is the first interactive pharmacy museum in Lviv city. The museum is located in a 'secter' basement in one of the oldest pharmacies in the city — 'Under the Hungarian Crown'.

'Under the Hungarian Crown' pharmacy was founded by Alexander Longchamps de Berier in 1772 in former Bernardine square (nowadays Soborna). The name of the shop comes from the historical fact that the relics of Saint Stephen (king and patron of Hungary) were kept for some period of time nearby, in the Bernardine monastery. In the early 20th century, the older building was replaced by the newer, three-storey one (the architect Karol Boublik) at the same place where the pharmacy is located to date. At that time the store was equipped with Neo Baroque furniture and the inscription read 'Built in 1772' was placed on the front of a building.

During repair and restoration taken place in 2012 there was discovered a secret entrance to an old pharmaceutical lab in the basement, which worked in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. That room gave its place for the modern museum exhibition.

'The Secret Pharmacy' displays a bunch of really rare exhibits.
One of them is the icon 'Jesus Christ as Pharmacist'. This is a modern artwork (2012), which was created following the style and production techniques of traditional Ukrainian icons. The artist Yiulia Monka (Ukrainian Catholic University, Icon-Painting School 'Radruzh') used a medieval egg tempera technique with gliding. In fact, the icon is a modern iconographic interpretation of an old-time image of Jesus Christ 'Christus als Apotheker' ('Jesus Christ as Pharmacist') appeared in Germany in 16-17 centuries. The original icon depicted Jesus Christ as a thoughtful pharmacist who was preparing the cure for wounds of the soul. He was measuring not the traditionally medical but spiritual components, such as Faith, Hope, Endurance, Peace, Love, Help, Blessing and Patience.
This icon is not only a religious depiction of Christ as a Holy Healer with a great love of mankind, but also a symbolic praise of medical workers like pharmacist and doctor for helping people and saving their lives.

The part of the exposition is Lion the Pharmacist, the one and only in his kind. His job is to protect the main secret of the museum.
