Pyatnychany tower is a rare monument of the early period of fortification building in Galicia. It had been well preserved, reconstructed a little. Now it is considered to be a unique one of the type and is opened for the visitors.
The whole complex contains the tower with authentic Gothic features, the acting lifting bridge, ground fortifications (rampart and moat), paling around the yard and a well imitation. The complex is a monument of fortification architecture of XV century.
Since 1995 the Tower is a department of Lviv Art Gallery.
The museum exposition is located on the first and second levels of the stone tower. There are archaeological findings, a skeleton map of fortification building and samples of military architecture of Galician-Volyn principality period in the museum exposition.
