Description:
The museum was founded in 1984, June as an interregional center of book popularization. Since 1991 the museum was the regional center of Ukrainian book, since 1994 — a section of Ternopil museum of regional ethnography.

The museum exposition is located in six rooms of the ground floor in the Town Hall. Its total fund numbers 7000 items, and 6800 books are among them. There are the following sections in the museum exposition: 'History of book printing and books printed anciently', 'Life and creative work of Markiyan Shashkevych', 'A. Chaykovsky and Berezhany', 'Literary development in Berezhany at ХІХ — beg. ХХ с.', etc.



The golden museum fund consists of a number of manuscript books, incunabula and original books printed anciently — monuments of XI-XVI c.

The museum exposition also displays the materials about creative work of M. Shashkevych, I. Franko, O. Makovey, V. Stefanyk and other Ukrainian writers.

The museum organizes scientific and practical conferences, literary meetings, lessons, presentations of new books, etc.
Working hours:
09:00-18:00, closed on Saturday.
Entrance fee:
Adults — 20 UAH.
Students — 16 UAH.
Children — 10 UAH.
Excursion rates:
Adults — 100 UAH per 45 minutes.
Pupils, students — 60 UAH per 45 minutes.
Photo shooting — 20 UAH.
Video shooting — 100 UAH.
