Pototsky Palace (Chervonohrad department of Lviv Museum of the History of Religion)
Chervonohrad department of Lviv Museum of the History of Religion since December, 1989 is located in Pototsky Palace, it is an architectural monument of a local significance. Excursions are held in four halls. One of them is used for long-term exhibitions, the subjects of which are the most popular. At present it is an exhibition named Krystynopol History of the ХVІІ-ХІХ centuries. Other halls are used for temporary shows, they present exhibitions from local funds and from the other museums' funds, from art unions, private collections, personal exhibitions of Ukrainian artists and international shows.
Showroom (in ХІХ cent. it was a ballroom), because of its wonderful acoustics, is also used for concerts of both well-known artists and local musicians.
During museum's existence there were collected over 10 thousand exhibits of the main and research supporting funds. Works of Ukrainian sacred art of XVII-XIX centuries form the main museum's collection. Icons of XV-XVІ centuries are the pride of the collection. Museum workers are always busy with exhibition, didactic, scientific and with research work, which is connected with the history of religion and region. A restoration workshop is attached to the museum since 1992, its main subject is to collect and renew museum's collection.
From 09:00 to 17:00, closed on Monday.
