The museum was opened in 1998 in one of the school rooms in order to preserve all the materials collected during many years by the pupils and teachers. They constantly provide searching and research work — notice the legends, fairy-tales, local proverbs and sayings, reminiscences of old people. Besides, they learn local traditions and customs, everyday life of local people and gather the ancient things — folk clothes, agricultural implements, household utensils. The modern museum exposition is a result of those activities.

The museum exposition is divided into two sections: historic one and that of regional ethnography. The historic section materials inform about known and unknown facts in local history, prominent people of the region, traditions and customs. Some exhibits tell about the development of education in the region, schools of the past and their famous graduates. The collection of ancient icons and that of folk clothes are of great significance.

The section of regional ethnography has a look of a village front room. Here one can see a table and benches, household utensils, ancient agricultural implements. There is also the modern exhibition 'Nature and Fantasy'.
