Historical Museum of Medical College

Description:

The museum was founded thanks to Roman Potsiurko, the former college manager, in 1995. And Cheslava Ryzhova, the library manager, organized the museum exposition. The exposition contains materials about the college history and it also contains exhibits presenting regional ethnography.

Separate section is dedicated to Orest Hornytsky, the former teacher of surgery. There are his personal things, documents and books from his own library.

In the exposition there are icons of XVIII с., the violin of early XIX с., medical scales of XIX с., embroidery, an old wooden bed made without any nail, photos about history of Boryslav town.

The museum exposition increases year by year. Materials about prominent college graduates are worth seeing.

By public transport
Go to Drohobych by train, electric train or bus. Then take a bus to Boryslav centre. In Boryslav from I. Franko square walk along Shkilna street to the college.

From Drohobych go to Boryslav. In Boryslav go along Drohobytska street, then — along A. Mitskevych street to I. Franko square. Turn to the left to Shkilna street and go to the end. The college is on the left.
