SHASHKEVYCH AND ZOLOCHIV REGION Museum

Description:
The museum was founded in 1991 for popularization of Markiyan Shashkevych creative work. The museum exposition numbers about 300 exhibits.

The literary section in the exposition represents materials about local writers, poets, composers and singers of different generations. Among them there are people, widely known in the world.

Markiyan Shashkevych is a prominent writer, public figure, the author of the first schoolbook for Ukrainian children in Galicia. He was the first to translate into Ukrainian 'The Tale of Igor's Campaign'.

In the section of ethnography the visitors can see the ceramics collection of Gavarechchyna — the black ceramics from Gavarechchyna village in Zolochiv district.

The museum organizes literary meetings and lessons. Since 2005 the museum has the title 'Model Museum'.
