Museum of Regional Ethnography in Khotyn

Description:
The museum was opened in 1963. Nowadays it's a branch of Chernivtsi Regional Museum, with the 5-room exposition of historical and etnographical materials from the region.

The first room displays archaeological finds dated back to the times of primitive communal system in Khotyn region. Local curiosities are stone tools and items from Trypillia culture (fragments of pottery, stone axes, etc). In the second exhibition room there are two expositions — 'Khotyn as the land of ancient Slavic people' and 'Khotyn during the 10-17th centuries'. Visitors will definitely remember the model of Khotyn fortress and Cossack kleinods (Hetman regalia) displayed in the collection.

The third room shows the history of Russo-Turkish war and the local culture of the late 19th — early 20th centuries. There are items of traditional Ukrainian clothing and household tools dated back to those times.

The last two rooms present the local history during the WWI and WWI.
