The museum was solemnly opened in 1982, December 15. The museum exposition covers the life and creative work of Vasyl Kasiyan, an academician, people's artist of Ukraine, founder of Ukrainian school of graphic arts of XX c.
Vasyl Kasiyan was born in 1896, January 1, in the family with many children, in Mykulyntsi village (nowadays — a suburb of Snyatyn).
He got primary education in Snyatyn having revealed a talent for painting. After I World War he is the student of Prague Art Academy. This period (1920-1926) was one ot the brightest in the artist's creative work. It brought him European recognition and proved his skillfulness. Having returned to Ukraine (1927, February), he began his pedagogic work at Kyiv Art Institute as a professor.
Vasyl Kasiyan, a painter and graphic artist, was a prominent scientist, art critic and theoretician of Ukrainian and world art, a well-known public figure.

By route H-10 to Snyatyn. In Snyatyn go along the main street to Marko Cheremshyna Museum. Then go into the street opposite the museum. It directs to Vasyl Kasiyan Art and Memory Museum.
