SVALYAVA HISTORICAL MUSEUM

Description:
The museum got the modern premises in 1997. Its exposition is displayed in two rooms of the administrative building in the town centre.

The museum exposition has two departments — historacal and that of regional ethnography. It numbers more than 900 exhibits. 640 of them are unique and date back mostly to the early XX c. The department of regional ethnography has several sections. The most interesting is the one presenting the process of linen producing. The visitors can participate in it.

Besides, here the interior of a peasant's cottage (early XX c., Chernyk village) is presented, too. There are ancient implements, folk clothes, wooden and rubber footwear, needlework items.

The historical department represents archival and photo documents. They inform about the town history and the prominent local personalities.

9:00-16:00; lunch time 12:00-13:00; closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Adults — 2 UAH.
Children — 1 UAH.
Excursion rates:
Adults — 10 UAH.
Children — 5 UAH.
