Museum of History and Regional Ethnography

DEscription:
The Museum has the title of "Public Museum". It was opened in 1976. The museum exposition is placed in an old building, the former "white school". In old times the white colour of the building gave pleasure to the visitors. The school was built in 1910 by the efforts of all the villagers. The firm "Hlesinger" gave money for construction as compensation for the land given for railway construction. The museum organizer was the prominent photo artist Yaroslav Koval and Vasyl Dzhuryn, the former chairman of the village.
When the news about the museum had spread, the teachers and pupils began to look for old things to give them over to the museum. Nowadays there are more than 5 thousand monuments in the museum exposition. It is placed in five halls and contains historical, archaeological documents and numismatic collection.

The first hall exposition represents the ancient local history. Sections "Kyiv Rus" and "Culture and Education" atrract the visitors attention. Here one can also see the interior of Boyky house.

The second hall exposition contains the materials about I World War. Here the visitors can find interesting materials about local folk masters — furriers, blacksmiths, weavers and builders who constructed about 100 wooden churches in Galicia. In 1745 local masters built St. Michael church in the village. Here one can also enjoy the photo collection depicting local traditions and atmosphere of the past.

The materials and photos of the third hall cover the events of II World War. And, the fourth hall represents souvenirs and presents from other countries.

The fifth hall exposition could be called a naturalistic one. It covers local flora and fauna. The fauna of the mountains differs by a large variety of species.
