Diocesan museum in Truskavets town was founded on October 11, 1998. One of its founders was a doctor Roman Smyk, Bohdan Lepky's nephew, he received the secondary education in Ukrainian secondary schools in Berezhany and in Stanislav (nowadays Ivano-Frankivsk), and medical education — in the Universities in Krakiv and in Berlin. It was Mr. Roman Smyk who consigned the case about Yosyf Slipy which became the basis for the museum foundation.

Nowadays, the museum exposition gives the possibility to find out about the history of the Sambir-Drohobych Diocese, about famous in Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church figures' lives, such as archbishop Yosafat Kuntsevych, metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky, patriarch Yosyf Slipy, and to view one of the exhibitions of the sacred art.

Every year more than 5 thousand tourists visit the museum. Exhibitions of different subjects (mostly spiritual) are organized for the visitors. The museum's funds are used for the scientific research of the history, they are also used by the regional ethnographers, by students for their research works or by pressmen.

Diocesan museum closely cooperates with the Lviv State Folklore and Cultural-Educational Work Regional Centre (manager Mrs. Agnessa Ropetska), it holds the people's masters' works of art. Such artists exposed their works in the Diocesan museum as Halyna Otchych, Iryna Ivasenko, Yaroslava Zanevchyk, Hryhoriy Mazurak, Halyna Myshko, Lidiya Kuchma, Bila Olesya, Marta Novytska, Oleksandra Zrobock, Oksana Ivanochko, Mariya Stankevych, Hanna Polyakova, Orest Hladun etc.

Go to the railway station in Truskavets by train Lviv-Truskavets or by bus from Lviv (sets off from the railway station). Then walk (5-10 min.) or go by taxi.

Go along the road Kyiv-Lviv-Chop to Pisochne village, at the traffic lights turn to the road Pisochne-Boryslav and go to Truskavets town.
