The Museum of Local History 'Svitlytsya' (the Chamber)

Description:

The school museum was opened in 2004. The exposition room contains a variety of exhibits — from the everyday items to the festive attire  — collected from a number of regions inside and even outside the country.



The total number of the exhibits is 470. There are 4 sections in the exposition: the everyday life, the household, the natural history and the numismatic ones.

  • kitchen utensils: jars, dishes, bowls, wooden utensils;
  • everyday items: a trough, a fire iron, an ash shovel, lamps and a mirror;
    tableclothes and embroidered towels (rushnyks) from different parts of Transcarpathian region, runner rugs, bedspreads, pillows and icons;
  • furniture: a bed, a cabinet, a trunk box, a table with chairs, shafarnya (a bench);
  • musical instruments: a violin, an accordion (1943) and a squeezebox;
  • clothing: vyshyvankas (embroidered shirts for men and women, adults and children, rich and poor), bast shoes, hats, items of the school uniform and a hymnasterka (type of the military tunic);
  • miniatures: a stove, 'Shevchenko's hut'; there's also a stuffed pheasant;
  • household section: a unique yoke, sickles, shovels, carpentry tools, washing and weaving tools;
  • school documents from 1910;
  • collections of bills, Soviet coins and badges.

The items from the exposition are currently used for school plays.
