Museum:
The first meeting of the educated and cultured Ukrainian citizens in Sambir took place on October 9, 1927. During the meeting it was decided to establish "Boykivshchyna" association and a museum.
In 30-40th the museum was well-known not only in Poland, but also in many other European countries. In 1954 Boykivshchyna was closed out by the Soviets.
The new age in the history of the museum began in December, 1990. According to the request of Volodymyr Kobilnyk association (one of the museum's founders and the member of Boykivshchyna association), the town council provided the museum with the building that belonged to the former parish school (in 1679 inhabitants built it on the ХVІ-century's foundation).
Boykivshchyna museum keeps in touch with the ethnic Boyky in Poland, in particular with Syanotskyy museum of national building, Rzeszow art gallery and Krakow academy of handicrafts (the archeological department). Since 2000, the museum together with Lviv Academy of Arts has been arranging an annual master-class "Kids create an Easter egg".
