The room-museum was founded in the school building. Here the future writer studied. When in the elementary school, little Ivan began to note different stories he had heard in the village. The parents had noticed this talent and decided to send their son to Lviv for studying. That's why Ivan continued his study in the Ukrainian public school named after Borys Hrinchenko at the Horodetske suburb in Lviv. Ivan Kernytsky made his debut in literature by the comedy 'Sir Inspector' (1933). He was also the author of collections of novels 'Sviatoivanivski Lights', 'The World Says' and that of stories 'My World'. In 1939 Ivan Kernytsky became the Ukrainian writers Union member. Then he worked in the editorship of 'Vilna Ukraina' newspaper. In 1949 Ivan Kernytsky left for New York city (USA). During emigration years I. Kernytsky worked as a proofreader, wrote satirical articles, humoresques, short stories and articles about the fortune of emigrants. He published several collections of novels and satirical articles. In his last collection 'Weekdays and Sunday' Kernytsky managed to reproduce the life of "small people" and that of the people of Ukrainian Lviv. He became the favourite writer of many people. Ivan Kernytsky died in 1984 in the USA, and was buried there.
