Regional Historical Museum

Description:
The museum in Vynnyky was founded in 1991. And in 1994 constant museum exposition was opened.

The archaeological collection is dedicated to the city history. The visitors can observe the things of the first hunters who lived 27 thousand years ago, findings of three-field system period, a mysterious stone statue, etc.

The sections "Middle Age History" and "Latest History " (prominent persons) house the things and documents about city origin and development. There are also exhibits of Vynnyky Castle and the first tobacco factory in Galicia.

The collection of books printed early (XVII-XIX с.) and the masterpieces of F. Shtuflisser (XIX с.), Olensky (XVIII с.) are of great interest.

Personal things of O. Liubych-Parahoniak, a famous opera singer, attract the visitors' attention.There are also personal things of two ministers of Ukrainian People's Republic — Ivan Lypa and Ivan Ohienko.

The museum organizes numerous exhibitions of prominent Ukranian artists, meetings with scientists and researchers.

The museum also has a section dedicated to the history of Ukrainian emigration.
Working hours:
11:00-17:00, closed on Saturday.
Entrance fee:
Adults — 6 UAH.
Children — 3 UAH.
Excursion rates:
Adults — 20 UAH.
Children — 10 UAH.
