EASTER EGGS PAINTING MUSEUM

Description:

Life giving strength of the pysanka (Easter egg), its unique beauty, ornaments wealth and, finally, customs and rites, bound with it, form the construction basis of Pysanka museum (the only in the world) exposition, that was opened in autumn 1987 for the first time in the Annunciation church — the architectural monument of the ХVІ century.

In 2000 the museum got its own apartment. This eccentric architectural building is designed in a big egg shape (13 m high), it is an original and peculiar promotion for the museum. Nowadays, the museum's collection numbers over 10 thousand exhibits. In the museum's exposition Easter eggs and ornamental eggs from different countries are represented: from all the regions of Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Byelorussia, the Russian Federation, France, Canada, the USA, Pakistan, India, Sri lanka, China, Egypt and from Algeria. The language of the ornaments is the language of the goodness, charm and peace.

Working hours:
10:00-18:00, closed on Monday.
Entrance fee:
Adults — 30 UAH.
Students — 15 UAH.
Children — 15 UAH.
Excursion rates:
Adults — 100 UAH.
Students and children — 80 UAH.
In addition:
Photographing and filming — free of charge.
