The fortress gallery "Bastion" is situated nearby one of the historic monuments of Ivano-Frankivsk — the remains of the city defensive wall. The gallery's name comes from one of the old bastions having been reconstructed in 2002. The new building includes the old wall, and the new structure looks like a historic bastion. "Bastion" consists of a walking terrace and a gallery. The gallery includes a coffee-house, a restaurant, a gallery of modern art "Art na Mur" (Art on the wall), various shops of souvenirs and local goods. Various temporary exhibitions of different art styles, readings and book presentations are held in the gallery. Different festivals, and the International Festival "Feast of blacksmiths" in particular, are held at the square near the gallery. The visitors can see the live history — the old defensive walls hidden under the glass. Here one can also watch a movie about the history of the Stanislaviv fortress.
