Historic Museum of Novoselytsa Lyceum

Description:

The museum was found in 1997. Its exposition is placed in the building of the former custom house that was found in 1893 on the border of Austro-Hungary and Russia.

The museum's exhibits inform about the history of lyceum and, also, about important events in the town history. The materials about the railway building are worth seeing. The documents about John Reed (1887-1920) staying in Novoselytsa are of special interest. John Reed, an American writer and a publicist, visited the region during I World War. He stayed in Novoselytsya, Hertsya, Boyany. Later he published several articles about his experience, that were the part of his future book "War in Eastern Europe".

A separate section in the museum exposition is dedicated to the prominent people of the region — Sofia Rotaru, Mykola Mozhovy and Liliya Sandulesu.
