Two rooms in the house are memorial — the bedroom and the study. There are personal things of the writer, her furniture here. One can feel the atmosphere of that period.
Olha Kobylyanska was born in 1863, November 27 in Gura-Humora in Southern Bukovyna (now it is located in Suceava County, Romania) in the family of a minor administration worker. When a child, besides a proficiency in German she spoke Ukrainian as well as Polish. She spent her childhood and youth in Gura-Humora, Suceava, Kimpolung. Later she moved to Dymka village, and in 1891 — to Chernivtsi. She wrote her first works in German, beginning in 1880.
Since 1890-s she wrote in Ukrainian. O. Kobylyanska is the author of a great amount of stories, tales and essays about intelligentsia life. She worked as a translater, too.
