Museums in Chernivtsi

  • The museum was found in 1988. It is the largest museum of the type in the region now. Paintings and graphic work; sacral art, icons in particular, and exhibits representing folk art and decorative and applied arts of XIX-XX с. make the base of the museum exposition.

  • The museum was found in 1992. Now it is a section of Museum of Regional Ethnography in Chernivtsi. The museum exhibition presents the documents and materials about history and present life of those who came from Bukovyna.

  • The museum was found in 1940 by integration of the King Karol II Museum and Museum of Clerical Art. Today the museum collections number about 90 thousand original exhibits, that have no analogs. And numismatic, cold steel and firearms collections are among them. The collection of local ancient icons (XVI c.) is worth seeing, too.

  • The museum exposition invites the visitors to take a trip through time and feel the atmosphere of Jewish life in Bukovyna in 1774-1941. The regular exhibition contains unique documents and materials, authentic things of everyday life and articles of religious objects.

  • The museum is located in a one-storey house, the first private house of Olga Kobylyanska, the outstanding ukrainian writer. The literary museum exposition represents the life and creative work of O. Kobylyanska, and also, her public activities.

  • The museum was found in 1995, September 13. It was 25th anniversary of the song «Chervona ruta». The museum exposition is displayed in the flat the Ivasyuk family has lived since 1971 till 1991. There are more than 15 thousand exhibits in the museum funds, and among them personal things of V. Ivasyuk, his autographs and music of his songs, furniture and presents.

  • The museum was found in 1945. Later, in 2004 its exposition was placed in the house where Yuriy Fedkovych had lived for the last years. The museum exposition consists of two sections: literary and memorial. It was organized not only to inform about the life and creative work of Yuriy Fedkovych, but also to represent the historic epoch of that period. That's why it is of great interest for visitors.
