Bukowina Tatrzańska

The resort village Bukowina Tatrzańska is located in 15 km from the famous Polish ski resort Zakopane. Bukowina Tatrzańska is located on the slopes of Gliczarów hill in the valley of Białka river at an altitude of 967-1,000 m above sea level. There are picturesque views from the settlement at the peaks of High Tatras covered with snow. Within a radius of 2.5 km from a resort centre there are more than 20 slopes varying in length and difficulty levels on which rope tows and chair lift function. All of the slopes of this locality are uniformly flat and wide, the ski routes are of green and blue difficulty levels being up to 700 m. Maximum elevation on adapted routes for downhill is 78 m. The ski runs are lightened, there are snow guns. In addition there are schools for teaching skiing and snowboarding, rental agencies with ski equipment.

Bukowina Tatrzańska is the second ski resort after Białka Tatrzańska that can compete with Zakopane. Owing to the nature of this locality's relief, the ski lifts are situated in a way creating not a single complex but several separate complexes. However, they are equipped with the necessary infrastructure to meet the needs of tourists who are having rest here. In addition to downhill ski, the cross-county skis are also popular here. From Bukowina Tatrzańska starts a popular tourist route to a famous lake in High Tatras, Sea Eye lake. The lake is situated at an altitude of 618 m. Its length is 775 m and width is over 300 m, the maximum depth is 25 m. Sea Eye lake is protected by law and is a part of a landscape park 'Wygortlad'. The following tourist routes run here:

Bukowina Tatrzańska is also known as a spa resort. During the whole year thermal baths "Therma Bukowina Tatrzańska" function here. The building was constructed on the site of a geothermal source. It is one of the largest and most modern water systems in Europe which consists of 12 pools: 6 of them are indoor and 6 are outdoor. Water temperature in pools range from 30˚С to 36˚С. For children's recreation there are numerous attractions, water slides and mini-pools. On the territory of the complex there function saunas (Roman, Finnish, Old Highland sauna), gym, solarium, massage and beauty parlours. For  disabled people here function the rehabilitation room, also the diagnostics appointments are held here.
