Shatsk district

Water in lakes is fresh and belongs to hydrocarbonaceous and calcium type, it is saturated with oxygen and has neutral and feebly alkaline reaction, water is pure and fits for drinking. Thanks to clearness of the water, lakes in Shatsk are called azure eyes of Volyn.

One can swim in Svityaz and Pisochne lakes, near them the biggest recreational areas, boarding houses and lodges are located. There is also a small beach near Chorne Velyke lake.

Lakes in Shatsk are rich in fish: river eel, bream, pike, perch, carp. Sometimes one can meet sheatfish, burbot and others.
