NAHUYEVYCHI State Historical and Cultural Preserve

Description:
Nahuyevychi State Historical and Cultural Preserve was founded in March 10, 1994 in Ivan Franko's fatherland. The preserve structure includes: the writer's parents' lodge, I. Franko Museum, I. Franko and world literature sculptural composition, I. Franko's Path art-memorial complex.

Ivan Franko's Lodge Museum opened its doors for the visitors in August 27, 1981. In its basis lies the ethnographic essay-recollection by Ivan Franko, named My parents' house (1913 year), he described there his parents' house, showed the inner and outer look of each building — the house and a storehouse (place where agricultural implements were kept), shpyhlir (granary), smithy with blacksmith's bellows which belonged to his father, threshing barns and mews. In the writer's parents' house such things are collected: their everyday things, plates and dishes, Ivan Franko life period clothes. Valuable relics of the Frankos': a child's cot, a mirror in wooden framework, a dresser etc.

Across the road, opposite to the lodge-museum, there is a two-storey house where it is available to observe the literary exposition of Ivan Franko Museum. The museum contains the materials selection about the writer's life and activity in Nahuyevychi and in Drohobych district. The most valuable displays are: the golden book of the Drohobych regular school, where I. Franko's surname and the publications occuring during his lifetime are recorded.
Near the museum there is also the House of writers, a splendid place to hold meetings and conferences. On the ground floor a conference room for 20 persons is located, and on the first floor there are 2 rooms for rest.
Ivan Franko's path was founded in 1981, in Franko grove, not far from the Literary Museum. Ivan Franko's Path art-memorial complex includes the forest lane, along the path the wooden sculptures from the writer's works are disposed, the Fairy tales Glade with wooden sculptures from Ivan Franko's tales, the Virgin Nativity chapel and the Summer theatre.
